Expanding outdoor living with form and function

This project transformed a simple backyard into a balanced blend of utility and gathering space. At the heart is a custom cedar deck with white metal railings, designed with clean lines and a central stair that welcomes you into the yard. The deck flows seamlessly onto a patio of hexagonal paver stones, creating a durable, modern surface for outdoor dining and entertaining.

The detached garage was finished with dark siding and crisp white trim, striking a contemporary contrast that anchors the backyard. Exterior lighting highlights both the structure and the new cedar fencing, which wraps the yard in warmth and privacy. String lights add a subtle glow, extending the space’s usability into the evening.

Together, these elements create a backyard that’s both practical and inviting. The garage adds everyday functionality, while the deck and patio set the stage for gatherings that carry comfortably from indoors to outdoors. It’s a backyard built for both work and play, and ready to last for years to come.
